01.To organize and conduct the one-year "Diploma in Health Promotion Education" for sponsored candidates from India and abroad.
02.To impart training in Primary Health Care, Family Welfare.
03.Reproductive and Child Health and other integrated National Health Programmes to different categories of Health Personnel.
04.To supervise and guide students from other institutes, placed for field placement training with the Centre.
05.To provide technical guidance and training to the staff of Health and Family Welfare Training Centres (HFWTCs) and Rural Training Centres.
06.To carry out experimental training course for District level staff whenever required by the Training Division, Govt. of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
07.To arrange educational programmes for workers of voluntary agencies, worker groups and general public in different health and family welfare aspects.
08.To organise programmes on population, family life and sex education and education for awareness in AIDS for various colleges, schools, voluntary agencies, out of school youths in slums and for other organisations, on request.
09.To provide reproductive and child health, family planning and other welfare services to people through the urban clinic.
10.To carry out research studies related to training and education in the Health & Family Welfare Sector.
11.To carry out Community Based Research in the field of health and family welfare, AIDS, reproductive and child health etc.
12.To organise out reach activities and health camps to provide preventive, promotive and curative services to rural and urban slum population.
