Research & Evaluation

FWT& RC, Mumbai carries out community based research studies in the field of health and family welfare, AIDS, population, RCH, primary health care, training technology and on diseases covered under National Health Programmes.

Evaluation studies are also conducted as and when required. The Centre is entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the training needs assessment of state / district health personnel to design their curriculum.

FWT&RC ,Mumbai has been identified as Regional Co-ordinating Centre to supervise the activities of Annual Sentinel Surveillance of HIV infection and STDs for the state of Maharashtra. Dr. S. D. Khaparde, Director FWT&RC is the Regional Coordinator supervising the activities during Annual Sentinel Surveillance. The report is submitted to NIHFW, New Delhi and NACO, New Delhi.
