Introduction

The Skill based training courses are the training content developed for enhancing the specific skills of existing professionals or provide for a platform for imparting skills to candidates with no formal qualification.

To undertake the skill based training programme, it is mandatory that the candidate must fulfil the entry criteria provided for the job profile. The training and assessment will certify that the candidate is able to undertake specific set of activities.

First Responder is the first person on the incidence scene to recognize the emergency, activate an EMS system and provide lifesaving first aid with minimal equipment until the EMS providers arrive.

Scope of Practice:

First Responders provide a service in an environment (eg. Schools, industries, companies, community, at home,workplace etc.) requiring special skills and knowledge. They also serve as liaisons with other emergency services like trauma centres, casualty departments, ambulance service centres, emergency committees of fairs and festivals , health melas etc. This course provides an introduction to these concepts. Individual orientation to the specific systems and services with which the First Responder will be affiliated is necessary to achieve a full level of competency within a specific organization.

This curriculum includes skills necessary for the individual to provide first aid with a limited amount of equipment. Specifically, after successful completion of the program, the student will be capable of performing the following functions at the minimum entry level.

  • Recognize the seriousness of the patient's condition or extent of injuries to assess requirements for first aid.
  • Administer appropriate first aid for life threatening injuries relative to airway, breathing and circulation.
  • Perform safely and effectively the expectations of the job description.

Eligibility Criteria

Min. 8th Std. & Above Student, police, industry employees, security personnel, school teachers, drivers etc. and mandatory for all Public Health professionals including ASHA workers/ Anganwadi/ MPWs or relevant profession.

No. of Seats : 10

Duration of the course : 4 days.

Age limit : 18-30yrs (Relaxation of age for SC/ST candidates as per Govt. of India rules)

Course fee : Rs. 1100/- (Fee towards the field visits , study material etc will be charged as per the actual prevailing rates.)
