Diabetic Instructor

A Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) is a health professional who possesses comprehensive knowledge of and experience in prediabetes, diabetes prevention, and management. CDE are an integral part of the diabetes management teams. The CDE educates and supports people affected by diabetes to understand and manage the condition. A CDE promotes self-management to achieve individualized behavioral and treatment goals that optimize health outcomes. While diabetes educator may come from a variety of health professions, each member of the diabetic team is expected to integrate the role into their professional practice.

Eligibility criteria

An “upskilling certification ”course for the professionals with experience in the patient care such as Graduates in Public Health, Nutrition, Nursing, Pharmacology, Occupational and Physiotherapy etc.

Educational requirement: Graduation in Public Health, Nutrition, Nursing, Pharmacology, Occupational and Physiotherapy etc.
Seats- Minimum 5 per batch.
Duration- 3 months
As per the guidelines of MOHFW, GOI Minimum duration of 181 hrs are recommended of which 77 hrs should be of theory and 104 hrs of practical/ skill based training provided to the candidates.

Course fee

The course fee is Rs. 1000/- per month. Fee towards the field visits & study material etc. will be charged as per the actual prevailing rates.

Medium of instruction

English shall be the medium of instruction for all the subjects of study and for examination of the course.

Attendance:

A candidate has to secure minimum 80% attendance in overall with at least-75% attendance in theoretical and 90% in Skills training (practical) for qualifying to appear for the final examination.
